I thought I had you
Just for a brief moment
You were right there
So close I could touch you
But I let the moment slip
And then you were gone
I beat myself up
On the ride back home
Knowing I had my chance
Waiting for the perfect second
To say the perfect words when
Something just good enough would do
So I start another day
Wondering what I got to do
Trying to trust my instinct
Which has let me down before
Hoping that I get another shot
To tell you what's inside
Words by Mike Ness
High school seemed like such a blur
I didn't have much interest in sports or school elections
And in class I dreamed all day
Of a rock 'n' roll weekend
And the girl in the front of the room
So close yet so far y'know she never seemed to notice
That this silly schoolboy crush
Wasn't just pretend
Life goes by so fast
You only want to do what you think is right
Close your eyes and then it's past
Story of my life
And I went down my old neighborhood
The faces have all changed there's no one left to talk to
And the pool hall I loved as a kid
Is now a Seven Eleven
I went downtown to look for a job
I had no training, no experience to speak of
I looked at the holes in my jeans
And turned and headed back
Life goes by so fast
You only want to do what you think is right
Close your eyes and then it's past
Story of my life
Good times come and good times go
I only wish the good times would last a little longer
I think about the good times we had
And why they had to end
So I sit at the edge of my bed
I strum my guitar and I sing an outlaw love song
Thinkin' 'bout what you're doin' now
And when you're comin' back
Life goes by so fast
You only want to do what you think is right
Close your eyes and then it's past
Story of my life

It may take a moment to load, Bella. Do you see a little i in a blue cirlcle like thing? If so, it's loading.
The video is from imeem.com and I usually use youtube. It may be that your computer needs to allows imeem.com to run their player and your PC security is not allowing that. If so, your browser may be set to allow imeem.com to run their player. It may be a pop-up blocker that's stopping this, and it can be easily fixed usually. The setting to be changed depends on whether you use Firefox, Internet Explorer or some other web browser. The basic idea is to let your browser know that this vid is not some virus or bad thing.
Check out this link to imeem and the video I embedded. I bet if it plays for you there, after a tweak, then it will play over here too.

It worked for me, Prank. I can't get Internet Archives videos to embed but Imeem seems to work OK. The thing is they won't take my video uploads. And they're clean. Hmm, maybe that's the problem.
Thanks, John, glad to have a confirm that it plays somewhere besides here at PranksterNet. It's good to see you.
With all the script blocking and other tools to prevent the bad guys, I'm amazed that any of this stuff works. And I've been doing IT work for 20 years, everyday is a miracle. A miracle that the Internet functions and is still there. Another day I get paid...
Using my IE browser I could view it, but not with my Mozilla tonight for some strange reason. Who knows this thing is probably getting ready to blow. Enjoyed the video, and if I didn't know better I would say that guy is wearing makeup.

Yes, but not paid in cash money exactly, my compensation is in cash equivalents. Seas shells, rainbows, sunshine, lollipops and organic cotton candy put options.

"That made my eyes tear up"
Thank you for sharing that with me, ^BELLE^. One of my goals is to share a little piece of my heart and mind when I write stuff. Some of it is very goofy and I like it that way. But then I have my moments like this. It soothes my soul to write things, so I guess the blog thing is kinda selfish in that respect. A wondrous experience to be able to share and interact with you and all the really fun and interesting people at this place.
Take care, ^BELLE^, always a fine day when we visit.

So you think this dagger in the heart thing might be your next tattoo, Prank? Where on your person might you put it? I have many tools that could prove useful for inking you up. And don't forget, we have a facility in the basement available, so you wouldn't have to leave the Palace grounds.

Thanks, Miss Lou.
We are looking mighty drought-like out this way. Less than 4 inches of rain since January 1 when we should be around 9. Getting drier and dustier than normal, and what with all that flooding along the Mississippi, but at least we're not burning like California. So glad my yard is xeriscaped, little water needed and plenty of stuff blooming.
Wishing you and the GM a super fine Happy Sunday evening!

Thanks for the offer, Doc Sam, but there's an ink artist in Boulder I will see when I'm ready. Not sure about the heart dagger thing though, it's very cool but I'll do whatever when I feel ready. Just like the 1st one, my mind and spirit were totally aligned to get it done. And I was very happy with result.
I don't know why but I can't get this video to play; in fact I see nothing but a big black box.

I hope it plays OK for you, and everyone who may be interested in checking it out. Sorry about that...

I could sense the heartache in your poem. I hope all works out well for you.
