Last
month I lost a dear friend, my dog Chile. She died the day after her
10th birthday from kidney failure. My girl and I spent a nice last day.
She went for a ride in the car with me, one of her favorite things, and
for a brief moment we were back in the days when she was a puppy. I got
to spend a lot of time that day with Chile, I got to tell her how much
I love her and she told me in her own way that she loves me. I was
there when she died on my porch, I was glad to be there in her last
moments. The tears were flowing my Friends.
To make matters
worse, it took the Humane Society a month to cremate her body and get
the ashes back to me. I did not realize how much it bothered me, I
wanted closure to be sure. But I was so worried that they lost my girl.
I finally was able to retrieve her ashes and she joined her younger
brother Calvin who died in August 2 years ago. I sprinkled her ashes
into the river near our house with her favorite flowers -- roses. Chile
always sniffed roses, she seemed to enjoy it. Most other dogs in my
life would more likely poo on the bush than sniff the roses :-D but not
my Chile girl. So I clipped some roses and we went to her favorite
swimming hole and I watched on the bank as her ashes floated downstream
with her roses from her yard. Peace at last...

Calvin and Chile at the Waterin' Hole.
That was so touching and sweet. Memories of Miss Chile will always bloom in your heart, Pranky.
It is really really hard when they pass on, isn't it. If I were an actress who needed to cry in a scene, I would think about my pets that are no longer with me, and the tears would be real.
Almost a year since Chile has gone... man it takes a while to start healing from it, doesn't it.
Peace and love to you,
Daisy
It was my first post and I was thinking about the dogs amongst other things. A hot Saturday afternoon in St. Pete. And I had no idea what to write about...
Thanks for your very nice comments,
