The Paradox of the Prankster

My Weekend Mantra -- Sunrise Calling Edition

I'm seeing dawn
Much more often now
So I begin my Day
Thinking I am just one step
Closer on the way

It's early here in
My Western home as I'm
Packin' up my mind
For one more long ride to
The future I will find

Here there is nothing left
I have spent it all
Now time to leave this place
The past is done, all I want is
To see your sweet face

It took so long
To get my Heart ready
But then I took my time and
Shed all my ghosts and fears
To be ready to take your hand

Not so hard to think
Of doing this now
It seems all very clear
The road it calls me out
To the One I find so Dear

My Friday Mantra -- Awakening Edition

Each Morning when I awake
The very first thing I see
Is this bottle of sand
On my night stand

It brings me a smile
As I figure out
My route back to You
Something that I must do

So abundantly clear
The Universe spoke
And now it's on Me
To get back to the Sea

Down deep in my Heart
Your Spirit resonates and
That sweet smile drives Me
To the maximum degree

Then when I lay down
For my night's deep rest
My Dreams all seem to be
Of You and Me by the Sea

My Tuesday Mantra -- A Prankster's Prayer For His Cousin Edition

When we were just Children
You treated me very kind
I have your Smile forever
Etched in my mind

To see you hurting so
Your Spirit strong and
Breath comes so hard
This wasn't we planned

My Heart cries out to God
And the Universe each night
Asking for a Healing please
Give Her Strength to Fight

Free Her of the Pain
Let Her soon run Free
Bring Her Good Health so
She can be with Her Family

I have many, many Blessings
Just take some from me
Give them to She who suffers
Such dreadful maladies

Bring Her Home soon
This I ask you please
Give Her Loving Family
The Blessing of Peace

My Weekend Mantra -- I Can See It Now Edition

Image created by Jamie J. Rice,

Been wondering for awhile
If I would ever feel right
Seems like I was a Stranger
Even in my own House

I was tired as a Dog
Chasing cars all day long
When I lay down my Head
I prayed for relief

Felt like it lasted forever
Crisscrossing my Desert
This lonesome journey with
No oasis in sight

So I pried open my Mind
And my Heart and my Ears
Took in the flow and
Shed many fears

Funny things started happening
Doors were no longer closed
Got so used to having them
Slammed on my Nose

At first I was quite puzzled
But then my own Eyes they saw
A path opening up before me and
New life in my Heart

Still many challenges await
The long ride is far from done
Yet I can see my new Home clearly
Of this I am sure

Prank's Friday 5 Fun Facts About His Six Evenings With Miss Six

I had the great pleasure to stay in Norfolk, VA and visit with Miss Six in Virginia Beach this past week. We happened to get together for Six evenings and it was a delight for this Dry and Dusty Prankster to hang with the Gracious Miss Six near the water after he has been living in drought for 8 of the past 11 years. Prank dug the massive hospitality of all the very Fine Folks in the Tidewater region and was moved by the Kindness shown to him in that Lovely part of the World.

Ladies and Gents, I bring you all 5 Fun Facts about my visit with Miss Six!

1) Miss Six is all about the Seafood and her Prankster dined on some of finest fresh Seafood he has eaten in Decades.

2) Miss Six has a smile that radiates even better live in person than in pictures and she has dimples in her cheeks.

3) Miss Six is kind to all Living Things.

4) Miss Six has a very good eye for putting golf balls and took this Prankster to the cleaners at The Jungle Course on Pacific Avenue. For some reason the Prairie Prankster felt very distracted.

5) After one fine evening of dining, hiking and hanging on the Beach and feeling the Ocean Breezes, Miss Six and her Prankster sampled some Organic Mile High Dessert Treats which brought a special glow, a buzz as we Mountain Folk call it, to the Sea and Moon and Stars. Oh yeah, those channel buoys for all the shipping that goes through those ports in that part of the Universe. We were checking those buoys out just about every night watching the boats and ships out there. So anyway as we proceeded to Miss Six's "Chick Truck" from the Beachfront this Prankster was seeing the Ocean and it's Wonders in a whole new way.

Miss Six and Prank had a nice stroll from the Beach to the Parking Garage. She calmly stated on the way over that she was ready to bring me to my Hotel as we were going up the stairs to the 3rd Level. Miss Six confidently started up the "Chick Truck" and proceeded to attempt to drive out of the parking garage. She is a very good driver by the way, I enjoyed riding shotgun in her very nice vehicle all week long. But after what seemed like more than 10 minutes it appeared we had not made much progress. Usually we were out of that freakin' Garage in less than 5 minutes. Miss Six was indeed driving safely and reasonably as she always did. However, we were still on the 3rd level where we had parked. She mentioned that she was following all the Exit signs yet there we were, driving around and around and around the 3rd Level of the Parking Garage in Virginia Beach. Now please do not think I am complaining, anytime I can hang with Miss Six is welcome time indeed. So I was digging the ride, seemed like were driving up each and every aisle in the 3rd level a few times but I could be wrong. So I suggested she try a different way yet we were still going around in circles. Now keep in mind I am Dark Blonde and well....we got out of that Garage eventually but I am not real sure how we did it...
