Answering the call
For the likes of you and me
So we can run Free

Never can forget
Their honor and compassion
Serving gallantly

Hug one if you can
And keep them in your prayers
This Veteran's Day

My Tuesday Mantra -- E-Voting On The Slate Is Rilly Groovy Edition

Puttin' on my waders
It'll be gettin' deep
As the election night counts
Slow down to a creep

Ain't nobody's fault now
When that chad won't fall
Or the ballot gets lost or
The computers make the call

Proprietary code for security
Also means that we can't try
And see if that e-vote was cast right nor
Verify things independently

There's always been voting
Abuse and electoral fraud
Technology is no quick fix
For Humanity is flawed

The leafs have fallen
There's frost on the lawn
Now time of the year
For the pucks to drop

And we got football too
Seems every night
There's way too much
On my high def tube

It's good I like
To take long hikes
Keeps me limber and
My spirit's tip top

So when I take in a game
I can put my feet up with
No fuss or complaint cause
I got less stress on my brain
